Tourist Itinerary in Tuscany: Pienza, Montepulciano and Chiusi, around mount Amiata

Route map: Daily tourist journey for a total length of approximately 200 km

Departure and arrival: “Podere la Villetta” Tuscan Farm house with Children's Playground

A very interesting daily excursion based on the "Podere La Villetta" and pushing south. Overnight stays in this Tuscan farm house tourism allow young couples and families with small children (up to two years unpaid) to spend an interesting and pleasant weekend with moments of relaxation in Tuscan countryside. .
At first sight, this path would seem to be exhausting the main points of interest after 40 kilometers: It is undeniable that Pienza, Montepulciano and Chiusi alone justify a journey, both for the extraordinary Renaissance heritage of the first two and for the treasures of Etruscan and classical archeology exhibited in the National Museum of Chiusi.

Pienza, The "ideal city" of Renaissance urbanism was obtained in the second half of 1400 by the medieval medieval borgo of Corsignano's desire for Enea Silvio Piccolomini as the name of Pius II.

Montepulciano is a town gathered on the crest of an array between the Val d 'Orcia and the Valdichiana, with numerous buildings of considerable architectural interest and Piazza Grande Stage of theater reviews planned during the summer season. The production area of one of the most prestigious Italian red wines named Docg, the "Noble Wine of Montepulciano", made up of Sangiovese and Canaiolo grapes. A taste is required in the beautiful and ancient cellars of the area.

The catacombs located outside the dwelling are of exceptional interest to Chiusi. However, it is not thought, by climbing along the state's trespasses towards Radicofani, to meet a "minor" Tuscany: As it’s often the case in Senese (Siena lands), it is enough to travel a few kilometers to pass through such fascinating and diverse natural scenarios as the Greens around Mount Cetona and the volcanic profile of Mount Amiata.

It's difficult to find adjectives to define the Abbey of S. Antimo, isolated Benedictine complex between the olive groves on the west side of the Val d 'Orcia valley, founded by nothing less than Charlemagne.

As little as fascinating is the thermal station of Bagno Vignoni, renowned for its ancient water bath. Many over the centuries were the illustrious guests of this delightful medieval borough, from Saint Catherine to Siena to Lorenzo the Magnificent, who took care of himself with his waters.

The last stage of the tour is San Quirico d 'Orcia and then the return to Lucignano of "Podere La Villetta", farm house, which provides a good kitchen, always accompanied by good service and a welcoming structure.
