Route map: Annual tourist journey of approximately 90 km in car or by train from the Arezzo station

Departure and arrival: "Podere la Villetta " Tuscan Farm House with children's playground.

Using the "Podere La Villetta" farm house as a starting and arrival point, we suggest the most popular and interesting Tuscan tourist route from an historical point of view.

Few cities in the world have been visited and loved like Florence by scholars or simple tourists. Countless reading keys to set a visit to the most extraordinary place in Tuscany, ex capital of the Medici. Having to make a choice, it was decided to focus attention on the extraordinary pictorial cycles that appeared in Florence during the 1400s and 1500s. Masters of the caliber of Beato Angelico, Masolino, Masaccio, Benozzo Bozzoli, Domenico Ghirlandaio, Andrea del Sarto and Jacopo Pontormo guide us through their masterpieces along a route to which we can add the many monuments that we will meet along the road.

From S. Maria Novella, a point of departure particularly suited to those arriving in the city, both by car and by train, the route follows Panzani, de Cerretani and Borgo S. Lorenzo to the Palace Medici-Riccardi, from which Cavour Street leads directly to the Museum of S. Marco, connected by Cesare Battisti to the Basilica the SS. Annunziata. More along the road to reaching the Brancacci chapel in S. Maria del Carmine, located in S. Fredia's rion, on the opposite side of the Arno.

In the streets of the center, it is still possible to run into tripe vendors, who are mainly stationed in the autumn and winter in various squares of the city (e. g. S. Lorenzo's market).

It is recommended to use public transport to reach the Museum of Andrea del Sarto, in the neighborhood of San Salvi and Fiesole immersed in green hills of the surroundings of Florence. Fiesole features the presence of world-renowned institutions such as the European University Institute and the University of Harvard, and origins much older than the capital. The archeological area, with an interesting museum, concentrates the most important testimonies of the ancient inheritance: The Roman Theater, the Thermal water basins and the exquisite Etruscan walls. He retains works of art, such as the neighbor S. Domenico, who in his rich heritage contains paintings of the Beato Angelico.

The possibility of overnight stays at the "Podere La Villetta" stems from the desire of young couples and families seeking moments of relaxation and culture, the discovery of Tuscany's natural and artistic beauty as well as Tuscany’s hospitality and cooking.
